Podcasts began as a type of media that relied exclusively on audio-- producing a close, immersive experience that motivated listeners to utilize their creativity. Early Podcasts was a user-friendly , on-demand alternative to traditional radio, allowing listeners to tune in at will instead of restricted to a live broadcast schedule. This gave audiences greater control, making podcasts a useful extension of radio's storytelling traditions but with the freedom to listen anytime, anywhere. With the intro of video, podcasts then shifted the focus towards discussions featuring individuals talking directly to the camera in studio settings. Now, a new trend is emerging: the Hybrid Podcast.
